You are Safe

[Excerpt from TT: 1999-11-18]

[TCB] Is there anything that you would like me to know at this time, that I may not currently aware of?

Will Michael explain the difference between Want and Need?

[Excerpt from TT: 2000-02-17]

Note: Otterly is aka Troy Tolley

[Deb] Will Michael explain the difference between want and need?

[Michael_Entity] We find the differences between WANT and NEED to be profound: WANT is anything you are choosing consciously to ADD to your life, while NEED is anything you seek to FILL or SUSTAIN your life. There are certain areas of your life that are defaulted “pockets” seeking to be filled; these are NEEDS (food, shelter,…) There are certain areas of your life where a foundation is built and additions are sought (such as more relationships, more money, more or anything…), and that seeking is a WANT.

What is enabling?

[Excerpt from TT: 2009-10-11]

[Question] I’d like a little more insight into the whole enabling deal, [how to tell if you are an enabler, and what to do if you are an enabler].

[Michael Entity] There are various forms of “enabling,” but the generality is that this is a state of passive or active contribution to the harm of another person in the guise of support. The most definitive factor in determining if one is enabling, or not, is if your presence is contributing to the harm of yourself, or to the other. We emphasize “PRESENCE,” as it does not have to be an active presence, but can be a passive one, that helps contribute to the harm to yourself, or to the other.

What does the maxim: You Create Your Reality NOT entail?

[Excerpt from TT: 1999-07-15]

[Dd] What does the maxim: You create your reality NOT entail?

[Michael_Entity] Though this is a rather “large” question, we can assure you that most mistake this as the Personality’s potential, when it is not. The Personality is highly limited in its “creation” of reality. Personality, though, is the highest consideration by Essence in terms of what DECISIONS Personality has made for a length of time. Essence takes these factors into consideration as the Essence creates reality.

True community is physical

[Excerpt from TT: 2007-07-08]

[Lightspring] Many of us have been struggling lately with the concept of community. Within the loose community of Michael students, it seems that there are varying degrees of longing for community, as well as differing definitions of it, which is all to be expected among a large group of people. Isn’t the whole point about manifesting love as a group, while at the same time exploring group dynamics and learning from one another, and how can we best do that, given the current limitations of group makeup and communication options that are available?

Path or End Result?

[Excerpt from TT: 2002-11-21]

[sam_nemo] My reading of the Tao Te Ching and Bhagavad Gita indicates that results are more important than means, but Michael said another time the journey was more important.

[M_Entity] And what is your question?

[sam_nemo] Which is more important, the ends or means? Am I misreading the texts?

Over-complication replaces meaning

[Excerpt from TT: 2008-05-14]

[Excerpt from TT: 2003-04-25]

3, 7, 9, and 12 seem to be very important in the Michael Teachings.

3 is the entire premise and motion behind all growth, representing the Positive, Negative, and Neutral Positions. 3 is always about growth.

7 is two groups of 3 (one grouping exalted, one grouping ordinal), and a central balancing point for assimilation. When Michael describes things as part of 7, it is all part of describing a PROCESS. Even the 7 Roles describe the Tao’s own Process.
9 seems to be about describing all that must be fulfilled from within. Each group of 3 are triads of growth as you relate to yourself.

Negative Poles

[Excerpt from TT: 2007-05-16]

Well, as I have come to understand this… one thing to keep in mind is that Michael has explained that the “negative pole” is just a matter of restrictions, not necessarily a “negative” place that we would interpret it to be. Michael has said that some people function perfectly well in the world from that space and it IS their comfort to remain there. Not that it’s “good” for them, or that it’s preferable in the long run, but entire lifetimes can be spent there, or at least with the effort to remain there. Remaining at one end of the spectrum, positive or negative, is not really the goal of a soul, but to be able to function across the spectrum as necessary. The point is that the Overleaves contain a spectrum from a broader, higher functioning down to a more closed, restricted functioning and both ends can be useful.

Michael On Happiness and Unhappiness

[excerpt from TT: 2001-02-15]

[nemo999] How does one’s unhappiness affect others or their reality; can one person make another unhappy involuntarily?

[Michael_Entity] The degree of Happiness you have in relation to another is entirely dependent on the INDIVIDUAL interpreting the energy exchange. When two or more fragments are interacting, shallowly or intimately, Happiness or Unhappiness is a direct result of expectations fulfilled or not fulfilled. It has been a distorted interpretation by some that this then means you should not have expectations. This is just not possible in most cases. It is biological to have expectations.
